Nehru institute of health sciences, Coimbatore, celebrated ‘ PRAKAMBANAM 2K25’ the onam festival on 2 September 2025 with vibrant cultural spirit. The event beautifully reflected the festival’s essence unity, equality and prosperity. The celebration began with an insightful welcome address by DR. T. Dhanalakshmi, Principal of NIHS, who highlighted the onam’s culturals and historical importance Dr. P. Krishna kumar, CEO and secretary of NGI, who encouraged students to uphold the values of peace, prosperity, and equality embodied by king mahabali. The celebration featured a Pookkalam competition, Tug of War, Onappattu (Onam songs), Thiruvathira dance, an energetic flash mob, and a lively fashion show showcasing traditional attire. The celebration culminated in a grand Onam Sadya,. The festivities concluded with an authentic onam sadya served on banana leaves. The event fostered unity, cultural appreciation, and an enriching festive experience for the entire NIHS community.
